Participating in camp experiences offers TLA students and staff a unique opportunity to strengthen bonds, foster teamwork, and develop leadership skills in a natural, outdoor environment. Away from the usual routines and responsibilities of regular school life, participants engage in collaborative activities including hiking, canoeing, and team-building exercises, which promote trust and camaraderie.  An indigenous component is regularly a part of these experiences, where students learn about the traditions, lore, and skills of the local first peoples. The camp experience
provides another setting for personal growth and resilience, allowing students to challenge themselves and support one another in a variety of exciting and educational ways. Time spent at camp is not just
about enjoying the beauty of nature; it assists in cultivating a stronger, more cohesive TLA community
through shared adventures and experiences.

At TLA, camp experiences are designed to immerse students in the natural world while encouraging
them to engage in creative problem-solving and self-discovery. Away from the classroom, students are
empowered to take on new challenges, from navigating unfamiliar terrains to participating in
environmental conservation activities. These experiences not only build practical outdoor skills but
also inspire a sense of environmental stewardship, as students learn firsthand about the importance of
preserving the natural world around them. Through these enriching outdoor adventures, students gain a
deeper connection to nature, and develop a strong sense of independence and responsibility.
