Lottie Gamester is working with us to discern the need for full-day child care to be provided at the school beginning Tuesday, April 14, for children aged 5 – 12 years old, in response to the letter, March 17, from Rob Fleming, the Education Minister. In his letter Mr. Fleming asked schools to begin to form a plan for the care of children who are sons and daughters of essential service providers, such as medical health professionals, first responders, pharmacists and critical infrastructure workers, who are not able to self-isolate or to work from home at this time.
If you fall into the category of essential service provider, please send an email to lottie.gamester@yahoo.ca , with CHILDCARE in the subject line. In your email please indicate your qualifying area of employment, and the names and ages of your children.
Please note that we are now only in the discernment-of-need-phase of our planning. Once this need is made concrete, we will be working with the Ministry to ascertain funding, and the appropriate procedures to have in place for such a program to take effect following the Spring Easter Break. We hope to be back in touch with families requiring this service by April 7.
