RC Challenge Oregon
4 TLA teams competed in Beaverton, Oregon, in this annual competition. Two of our teams came third in their respective divisions with all teams competing well in all games. History was made during one game which went into five overtime periods, with TLA emerging victorious. Thank you to parent and teacher driver/supervisors for their support of this annual trip.

We wish all families an enjoyable day together on the upcoming statutory holiday.
TLA Sun Run Team 2015
Team TLA Sun Run, April 19, 2015– Sign up Soon!
We turn our thoughts to the annual Sun Run. Now an established TLA tradition, we are pleased to encourage participation from all grades, teachers and families. After the tremendous success of our TLA team in previous years, this year, we now begin registration for our team. Early Bird Registration by Feb. 12 will save money! We include participants in the 2.5 km Mini Sun Run, to allow maximum TLA participation. We encourage all students, parents, grandparents and teachers to take advantage of this quest for fitness! The TLA Early Bird discount registration fee includes a Sun Run T-shirt, race bib and timing chip, and is available in the following categories:
Mini Sun Run (2.5 km) Students 18 & under (as of April 17) $22.00
Mini Sun Run (2.5 km) Runners 19 + (as of April 17) $33.00
Mini Sun Run (2.5 km) Adult Escorts (must be 19 + as of April 17) (no Sun Run T-shirt) Free
Sun Run (10 km) Students 18 & under (as of April 17) $22.00
Sun Run (10 km)Adults 19 + $35.00 (as of April 17) $33.00
(ADD $5.00 if you register between February 13 – March 12)
Although we enter as a school team and are identified by our personalized team T-shirts, participants run as individuals for the event. The Sun Run often draws a crowd of over 50,000 participants, so it is impossible to ensure that our group stay together, and with varying abilities, ages, and speeds, it is only practical that our participants essentially run alone. Because of this, parents must ensure that younger children are accompanied by a family member for the route they choose. For students in grades five and below, a parent or other family member is required. For grades six and seven students, parents may decide whether the student is permitted to run alone, with a group of friends, or under adult supervision. High school students in grades 8 – 12 are welcome to run unsupervised. We require 20 participants to set up a TLA 2015 Team.
