To Parents of Grades 4 – 7 Students:

We are pleased to announce the upcoming TLA Science Fair to take place in early May, 2022. Science Fair projects serve as an enrichment to the science curriculum, and a chance for students to delve deeper into areas of science that are of interest to them. Students will be well-prepared to undertake their projects successfully, so it does not need to become an all-encompassing family undertaking! Students have the coming three months in which to complete their projects. Certificates and prizes of $150.00 for first place, $100.00 for second place, and $50.00 for third place will be awarded. Science Fair projects should involve a learning process where the students select subjects of their choice, design a research project that tests a specific hypothesis, records and analyses the data, and finally states a conclusion regarding the experiment.

A time line with all due-dates and rules, will be given to all interested students along with their information packages once they have returned the section below.

Please note the following guidelines:

• The Metric System must be used in all calculations and measurements.
• All observations and calculations should be entered by the students in their Science Fair Composition Notebooks.
• Students must identify their topic/question to be investigated by February 20, 2022
• Students will be guided by me or their other science teachers weekly.
