DRUGS, ADDICTION, AND YOUR CHILDREN

All families are urged to send at least one parent to hear Dr. Marcel Hediger, Forensic
Psychiatrist, and TLA parent, address the perils and consequences of drugs and
addiction for today’s youth. Our provincial health authority has just declared drug
overdoses to be a public health emergency which leaves no family unaffected. Again,
we hope that every TLA family is represented at the talk this Thursday, April 21 at 7:00
PM.

TUITION PACKAGES 2016/2017

Packages will be sent home with students on Monday, April 25; please keep an eye out for these.

PARENT PARTICIPATION WORK BEE AND MORE

You will see our new mats purchased by our PPP committee to prevent the ingress of mud and dirt from
the playing field, which were delivered during the break. A hearty thank you to all parents who joined in
the holiday work bee just before Easter, and to overseer, Mr. Martin Lavrik, as well as to a mystery
gardener who gave loving attention to our front flower beds over the break! Our school is benefiting
greatly from everyone’s commitment to the program.

All TLA high school students, grades 8 – 12, will be making their way to Victoria on Thursday, May 12,

lives are protected.

BIRTHRIGHT MASS – SATURDAY, MAY 28

TLA students and families are invited to attend this annual Mass at Holy Rosary Cathedral, at the
corner of Richards and Dunsmuir. TLA has provided the choir for this event on a yearly basis.

KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS SPEECH ARTS FESTIVAL

Our annual speech arts festival is now underway at TLA, sponsored by the Knights of Columbus Father
Peter McGuire Council 4615. A festival which is over forty years old, has been a tradition at our school
since the mid-nineties. Giving our students a tremendous wealth of expertise in the realm of public
speaking, it also gives parents a chance to see their children shine! Come to observe the sessions
which take place throughout the school day, and Saturday of the coming weekend.
