SCHOOL MASS FOR THOMAS SMITH, TLA CLASS OF ‘05
Mass will be offered for the soul of Thomas Smith, who graduated ten years ago from TLA. All TLA
parents, alumni, and friends are encouraged to attend this Mass at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, March 10,
2015, in the school chapel. Grades 6 – 12 students will attend as the choir for Mass. There will be a
light reception to follow for the family, our parent guests, and for other visitors, following Mass, in the
staff room. May the soul of Thomas, and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy
of God, rest in peace. Amen.

TRADITIONAL LEARNING ACADEMY BUILDING & BURSARY
The Traditional Learning Society of BC has been active since the early 1990’s and oversees our own
school, a Distributed Learning centre, a Home School Support centre, the fostering of other independent
schools in BC, and, until very recently, One Stop Learning. In our TLA Coquitlam setting, we are
looking for members to join two sub committees, one for Building and Facilities, the other for our Tuition
and Bursary structure. Please contact the office.
CAMP SQUEAH TRIP
Grades ten through twelve students will participate in this year’s trip to Camp Squeah, past Hope on Highway #1. Students will experience climbing, hiking, dramatics, team activities, c ampfires, high ropes, and a variety of other outdoor activities. Students depart TLA on Monday, March 16th at 9:00 AM, and return on Wednesday, March 18th. We wish all participants an excellent time at camp.
SPRINT & EASTER BREAK
School will close after classes on Tuesday, March 17, (St. Patrick’s Day) and will resume on Tuesday
April 7th. We wish all families a restful vacation and a Happy and Holy Easter!
RECENT FIELD TRIPS AND ACTIVITIES
Our high school ultimate team is in full practice mode for the coming season. Grades 5 – 12 returned
elated from a day at Whistler/Blackcomb this past Friday – a definite “must-do” for next year! Grade six
students spent the day at Stave River Power Station last Thursday having learned all there is to know
about hydro electric generation history in BC. Kindergarten to grade three students attended the
Vancouver Symphony Orchestra February 26 for this annual highlight.
